A survival guide to pimping in medical school

In medical school, pimping is a way of life.

You have to be always prepared for that random question you will be asked about your patient.

In addition, you should be prepared at all times to do a organized history and physical, assessment and plan.

Most pimping occurs during your oral presentation after you’ve seen a patient, or during rounds; and of course, in the OR.

You have to keep in mind that a large percentage of people learn by answering questions. Therefore, if they are to teach, they teach the way they learn. So they do not know of any other way to teach.

Those personality types are usually the extroverted sensing (ES) types that love to pimp.
