How to receive feedback

It’s sometimes not easy getting feedback. After all, we all wish we were perfect little beings whose actions are nothing less than praise worthy. But when it comes to learning how to do something new, like how to take care of patients,¬†perfection is a goal, and not the starting point.

Feedback then, becomes the tool that is used by those more senior than us, to make us better. Sometimes the feedback consists of what we want to hear. Sometimes not.

When receiving feedback you should do so with an open mind, and with an appreciation of the person who is taking his or her time to mold you into something better.
